Edel from Heritage Ireland came to visit all first and second classes this week to talk about our wild bees and honey bees. The children learned about the 'All Ireland Pollinator Plan' and how it was developed to help our native bees. She brought along an educational hive (no live bees!), a smoker, bee-suit and honey, which some of the children tasted! It was a really interesting and interactive learning experience.
